How to correct external display colors. Perhaps the easiest fix is to close your MacBook's lid while using it with an external screen. This disables True Tone (because the sensor is blocked).

In a Geekbench 5 CPU benchmark test, the new MacBook Air's single-core score (1,692) outperformed 2019's 16-inch MacBook Pro (1,207), and nearly matched it in multi-core performance (7,264 versus. There are display profiles and editing profiles. For display profile that you set in System Preferences, either use profile that is a result of actual calibration or display profile from the manufacturer. In case of a MBP laptop display this profile is called Color LCD. For editing profile, which you set in your raw developer use editing. A brand new 13.3″ Retina Display. Image source: Apple. The all-new Apple MacBook Air 2018 features a new 13.3' Retina Display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and also employs 50% narrower bezels than the outgoing model which helps it stretch almost to the edges. The display technology employed here is of the IPS LCD variety. Color profiles are settings files that tell your Mac how to adjust the color and contrast of its display. Your Mac can store lots of color profiles, and you'll find that it already has a handful. Go to System Preferences Displays, then click the Color tab, and you'll see a list. These default profiles, with odd names, such.

With me recently acquiring a MacBook Air, like any geek, I tried to find any ways in which to make it better. And I've found a way to make the display on mine even better. We all know how great the screens are on Mac machines, but this little hack can make some MacBook Air screens sharper, add more contrasts and generally make it better.

How To Check You Have an LG Display

First you need to work out whether your MacBook Air display is made by Samsung or LG. This hack will only work with MacBook Air machines that have LG displays. The LG displays for some odd reason are a little washed out compared to the Samsung one purely because they're calibrated properly.

1. Launch Terminal. (Just search for terminal in search function top right)

2. Copy and paste this command and hit enter. (For some odd reason I couldn't put the command line into the post)

3. Read the output you get. It should look something like what's below. If you have 'LP' at the beginning, then you have an LG display.

Adding A Custom Colour Profile

Extend Display Macbook Air

Once you've selected the right colour profile you should see an immediate change. Like I said earlier you'll only see this immediate change if you have an LG display. Whites will be whiter, blacks are blacker and the display is generally sharper.
